As preparations move forward for the construction of the SAN ENRIQUE TEEN CENTER—a new addition known as ILOILO TEENiran: FACILIDAD SANG KABATAAN ILOILO SCHOOL-BASED MULTI-PURPOSE TEEN CENTER (ISBMTC)—excitement fills the hallways of Dominador Abang Memorial National High School (DAMNHS).

Inspired by the Hiligaynon word “tiniran,” which means “a place to stay or hang out,” the term “TEENiran,” which is equivalent to the Filipino term “tambayan,” reflects the essence of this project. Rather than just being a hangout, TEENiran aims to be an extraordinary hub for the youth, providing services that are youth-friendly, peer-led activities, and a platform for programs that are educational and recreational. It is intended to be a forum for young people to discuss their goals and observations while tackling the difficulties of growing up.

Governor Arthur Toto Defensor Jr. of the Iloilo Provincial Government and Atty Von Superio, Head of the Iloilo Provincial Population Office, are greatly appreciated by the people of San Enrique for their dedication to youth empowerment, especially now that San Enrique is one of the fortunate recipients of the ILOILO TEENiran project.

Recognition also goes to Mrs. Vickie Lequina-Pagulong, the energetic and diligent Population Officer of San Enrique, whose commitment has been essential to the success of this project. Her work has made a significant difference in making sure that the TEENiran center perfectly fits the needs and goals of the young people in the area.
