San Enrique, Iloilo — The Municipality of San Enrique, through its Municipal Environment & Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Liga ng mga Barangay – San Enrique Chapter, proudly supports the Iloilo Provincial Government’s “Limpyo Iloilo Kontra Dengue” campaign.
This province-wide initiative, launched on March 7, introduces the women-led Limpyo Iloilo “Alas-4 Kontra Mosquito” — a daily cleanup drive held at 4 p.m. The campaign was launched in celebration of International Women’s Day and aims to mobilize communities to combat dengue by promoting consistent environmental cleanliness.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. highlighted the importance of this collective effort, stressing that the fight against dengue requires sustained community participation. “A dengue cleanup is not a solution but a kickoff so that we can trigger the consciousness in the campaign for dengue,” Defensor stated.
The local government of San Enrique, through MENRO and the Liga ng mga Barangay, is taking an active role in this campaign by encouraging barangay officials and residents to participate in daily cleanup activities in their respective areas. This proactive approach underscores the municipality’s commitment to safeguarding public health and creating a cleaner, safer environment for everyone.
The “Limpyo Iloilo Kontra Dengue” campaign urges all Ilonggos to take part in the daily 4 p.m. cleanup drive, targeting the elimination of mosquito breeding grounds and the prevention of dengue outbreaks. By fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility, the province aims to significantly reduce dengue cases and enhance overall community well-being.
Through the active participation of San Enrique and other municipalities, the “Limpyo Iloilo Kontra Dengue” campaign sets an example of unity and shared responsibility in protecting public health across Iloilo Province.
