San Enrique, Iloilo — In observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2025, the Municipality of San Enrique, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), spearheaded a Bloodletting Activity in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross.
Held at the Municipal Auditorium at 8:00 AM, the event gathered volunteers and local stakeholders in a meaningful act of solidarity and preparedness. With the theme “Dugo ko, Ibulig ko, San Enriquenhon ako,” the initiative highlighted the importance of blood donation not just as a life-saving act, but also as a civic responsibility in times of emergencies and disasters.
Mayor Nonoy Niño Fernandez and Vice Mayor Trexie Fernandez lent their full support to the activity, underscoring the crucial role of community participation in building a culture of resilience and readiness. Their presence reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to proactive disaster response and public health preparedness.
The event aligns with the goals of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in fostering a safer, healthier, and more responsive Filipino society. It also reflects San Enrique’s local efforts to enhance disaster risk management through community engagement and inter-agency collaboration.
The successful turnout of the bloodletting activity is a strong testament to the bayanihan spirit of the people of San Enrique—proving that even a single drop of blood can contribute to saving lives and strengthening resilience.
