SAN ENRIQUE, ILOILO — August 4, 2025. The Local Government Unit of San Enrique officially welcomed a new dump truck, to be utilized as a garbage truck, during a blessing and turn-over ceremony held earlier today.
The vehicle was granted by the Iloilo Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., through the efforts of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by Mrs. Elena Matirizar.
This provision is part of the recognition awarded to San Enrique as the Most Outstanding LGU on Sustainable Ecological Solid Waste Management System. The award highlights the municipality’s consistent and effective implementation of programs that promote proper waste segregation, collection, and disposal.
Mayor Niño P. Fernandez expressed gratitude to the provincial government for the continued support, noting that the new garbage truck will significantly strengthen the municipality’s Solid Waste Management Program and improve garbage collection services across barangays.
“This is a huge boost to our environmental initiatives. With this additional vehicle, we can further ensure cleaner surroundings and a healthier environment for our people,” Mayor Fernandez said.
The LGU reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining environmentally sound practices and maintaining San Enrique’s reputation as a model municipality in ecological solid waste management.
